10 a.m. At Collindale golf course
|
Whether you're an avid golfer or simply like to commune with the trees, this is a great activity to kick off the reunion weekend. Start time will be about 10 a.m. for a fun round at a local course (non-golfers are welcome!). We are set for Collindale that morning, but need to give them a hard number pretty soon. If you want to play, but haven't indicated it on your online registration, you can still do so by emailing Mike Gardner below. Right now we have about 15 signed up, and room for about 20 more. If you have other family members, friends or know people from other classes who would like to play, please invite them. If you keep in touch with any old FCHS teachers, please invite them too. All ability levels are welcome -- it's just a fun day with a few cold ones and nothing serious about it. The cost should be $41 per person to walk. To sign up or add people to your list, please go to the reunion registration form or just email Mike Gardner at owlalums@comcast.net. As of 6/18 we have 15 classmates signed up for golf at Collindale. |
7 p.m. until midnight
|
Join us for margs and mingling! The 2007 reunion began at the Rio Grande at 143 W Mountain Ave, Fort Collins, CO 80524 and was a big hit! For those of you who missed the 20-year reunion festivities, the Rio offers a casual environment to soothe the oh-my-gosh-I-haven't-seen-these-people-in-so-long nerves. And if you need more soothing, the Rio's margaritas are as strong as always. Cost for the event is $25 and includes appetizer/finger food and the cost for the room. It does not include alcohol, so we will have a cash bar. As of 6/8 we have 95 classmates plus or minus their spouses. |
PANHANDLERS!!!
|
Sadly the Pizza in the Park thing wasn't going to work out due to scheduling conflicts - but don't fret. Pizza is still on the menu! We're meeting at Panhandlers for an open house type gathering so we won't need to pay for anything up front.
The owner John Olson has owned Pan's since 1981, so was very familiar with Pizza in the Park and was excited we wanted to hold our reunion at his restaurant. We're getting $1 off the price of a meal, so we can get a slice of pizza and a beer for $3.99 or pizza and a drink for $2.99. As of 6/18 we have 90 classmates and/or their spouses signed up for hanging out in the park! |
Island Marina
|
Round out the weekend with some more socializing and libations at the Island Marina. No need for bathing suits (although swimming and paddle-boats are available), a pontoon will ferry everyone to the island. They have a sand pit for volleyball, horseshoes, fire pit, canoes and other water sport activities. Then it's just a casual night of hanging out in an open-air pavilion, rocking out to 80s tunes. Enjoy food and drinks from the cash bar.
The cost for the Island Marina event will be $75/pp and will include everything (food, alcohol, non-alcoholic drinks and the cost for the Island). There will be an RSVP/paid sheet at the dock, no one will be able to access the Island unless they have paid (people ride in a boat to get to the Island). If you haven't paid in advance you can pay at the dock, but the only acceptable form of payment will be Cash or Check. As of 6/6 we have 99 classmates and/or their spouses signed up for this fantastic evening! |
